With its prime location in the metropolitan area, Sandy Springs boasts numerous points of interest to its residents and visitors. More than 300 residents reside in Sandy Springs, offering cuisines from all corners of the globe. Live music, theater, and comedy clubs give the city its own sense of culture. All ages can enjoy the many activities found in one of the city’s 16 parks. More than 20 miles of the Chattahoochee River are located in Sandy Springs, providing opportunities for picnicking, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing year-round. Boasting a museum, natural springs, and gardens, Heritage Sandy Springs is the community gathering point for residents and visitors to enjoy festivals, concerts, and sporting events. Sandy Springs offers a host of annual festivals, including the Sandy Springs Festival, Sandy Springs Artapalooza, Stars and Stripes Celebration, and the Chattahoochee River Summer Splash.
 

Real Estate

Six major neighborhoods make up the majority of Sandy Springs. Downtown is the site of the actual sandy springs from which the city’s name was derived, and is undergoing development a new civic and cultural center with offices, a performing arts center, a studio theater, meeting space, retail and residential spaces, a city green, and underground community parking. Riverside is an upscale residential area marked by winding, hilly roads in the western district of the city. Dunwoody Panhandle, wedged between the Chattahoochee River and Dunwoody, contains desirable and high-end housing. Perimeter Center is the business district surrounding Perimeter Mall, including Pill Hill, the largest medical center in Georgia. North Springs is the large northernmost area of the city, served by the North Springs MARTA Station, the terminus of the MARTA North-South line. Sandy Springs ITP is the small portion of the city that extends inside the Perimeter, known for its scenic, mansion-filled single-lane roads.
 

Education

Sandy Springs public schools are operated by the Fulton County School System. There are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, Sandy Springs Middle School and Ridgeview Charter Middle School, and two high schools, North Springs Charter School of Arts and Sciences and Riverwood High School, that serve the district. Many families also opt for one of the eleven private schools located in Sandy Springs.
